Trams from track to Le Mans

Hi,

We need to make our travel arrangements to get into Le Mans on the Friday for the Drivers Parade.

Does anyone know if the trams that run from near Tetre Rouge into Le Mans will be finished by this June?

We walked from HA last year (our first Le Mans), thought Carrefour was near the centre and we'd driven there - it wasn't that far!! About 3 hours walk!!

Anyone know what time the trams finish in the evening, or if the hours will be extended during race week?

Also, is anyone aware if it is possible to use the tram to get to central Le Mans from the north or west, as opposed to the circuit? If so, is there easy parking there? I'm thinking of going to the parade but not by car.

Ditto. And do you know just how many bars there are between the circuit and the centre? We started out at around 1 and made it to the parade by about 6.
It made finding the way back to the circuit really quite difficult indeed.....
The buses on the return leg were jammed to overflowing, so we had to walk back in the pouring rain.

And why exactly would a charming local lady waiting at a bus stop with her two children, offer to to put four clearly inebriated(but trying very hard not to appear so), soaking wet, 40 something 'rosbiffs' up on her garage floor? Beyond me....
After we politely declined, she did arrange for her brother-in-law to safely deliver us back to the Musee in his 20 year old R21 before going back to collect her and hers from the bus stop!

It is for this and a hundred other tales of human kindness that will ensure we return to Le Mans again and again.

Completely unrelated to the trams, but on the 'reason to return' line....

Leaving the Classic British Welcome last year we were crawling out of the village/town and came upon a group of school kids about 7 years old who had been to the display. They all stopped and cheered/waved as the car burbbled by - so I gave them a little rev to say thanks. About 20 yards infront was an old fella, in his 80s, who turned round and saluted us with a big smile on his face.

Just for that I'm heading back to the CBW in '08.
