All you Houx Experts - Help Needed
Discussion
Having spent 3 happy years on Houx Annexe , this year , our party has somehow ended up on Houx.
We were told at the time of booking , that HA was no longer available , so plumped for the next best thing - Houx.
My question is this - the tickets we have are Houx- non- numbered , i.e. no allocated pitches. I have never heard of these before , assuming Houx was all numbered pitches. Has anyone had these tickets before , and if so , which area of the site do these passes apply to?
Any help or advice greatfully received
Incidentally ,if anyone is interested , I have 4 of these tickets , and would be happy to do a straight swap for HA

You've got your tickets already?? Thats very quick of them. Usually tickets arive middle/late May or even later.
Anyhow, no-one seems to know whats happened with Houx/Annexe, other then they are smaller. last year the tickets for Houx had allocated paces on them, and a nice man on a bicycle shows us where these are. I cant imagine them deciding Houx ia a free-for-all- its always been to civilised for that.
Oh, and it has power so dont forget the fridge.

Houx is good. and your pitches will be numbered, they dont have un-numbered pitches in Houx. There is power, and water and the showers have improved over the last couple of years (although the main block is still cr@p)
I wouldn't camp anywhere else at Le Mans but like many I'm taking a sabbatical this year and going to the Nurburgring 24 hours instead.

I belive there is a small section for non numbered passes on Houx. The majority is alocated.
This season is the last year for houx annex due to a stadium being built there for the local footy team. From what I gather Houx annex is a lot smaller this year with what work on circuit and infostucture has already taken place.

Yes they do. We've had them two years running. Just ordinary pitches under the trees and around the perimeter walls. No problems with them atall.
This is exactly the info I was looking for !
Just to make it clear - I have not actually got the tickets yet , no-one has yet I should think.
Peter - could you explain a little more - do we just arrive and pitch up wherever we like in these specified areas , or will we be directed to a particular area?
We plan to arrive on Tuesday , so hopefully will beat the rush - but we do need a little space for our (ahem) 'toys'

I stand corrected. I have been going 10 years and never spotted one...
Mind you I don't normally walk round the perimeter wall pikey area
Hey,were not all pikeys!:-) we've've been going to Houx for the last three years as had enough of huge spaces 'fenced' off for paddling pools and excessive space some groups staked a claim for in 'free-for-all' camps. Mind you I don't normally walk round the perimeter wall pikey area

We have a our spaces backing on to the wall areas and find them ok and useful for powerpoint cable running, with no risk of someone tripping over our powerlines!
Also our reserved spaces have always been numbered as the agent we book with allocates our spaces together in one block, very handy.
You may find that the Houx 'cycle guides' are totally cluless tho' !
Our one rode off to the opposite direction of where our spaces where...we just let him go his own merry way, and we went ours! :-)

We've got 3 of these un-numbered pitches as it turns out. Looks like we may now have to make the trip a bit earlier to make sure of decent pitch.
Oh dear.
How will I break the news to Mrs Plug...

Houx was really rather pleasant and civilised last year. Until a bunch of Trolls in a Judge Dredge Landie trawled through the campsite and decide we weren't quite wet enough
