Free WiFi during 24hrs week
Discussion
Hi Everyone. Weathers on the change and soon the 24hrs kicks off. I live here infact. Thought I'd advise anyone who comes to bring their lap-tops, or anything else that has WiFi Lan connection. Be advised just a couple of months ago the Mc Donalds along by 'BUT', on the Mulsanne straight (1st checane going south), has free WIFI connection. Infact all Mcdos in Le Mans have this feature. Can even get connected in the car park in some, depending on the signal strength. Thought this would be useful to add.
PS. Hope them dam Gendarmes don't close the route from Mulsanne to Arnage corner, like last year. Dam pity no park up of all the tasty motors along the circuit.
PPS. Hope the sun shines too.
See ya

What you need to do is piggyback off this and boost it.
Take a Wifi Ethernet Bridge and Router that can be hooked up to a 12v leisure battery. Hook them up to relay the McD's WiFi at high power though a good high gain omi antenna on the end of an extendible pole. Park up someones car in the McD's car park with the gear inside and just the antenna pole propped up and tied to the bumper or a nearby post or something.
Hey presto - WiFi access with monster range while you are at LeMans...
Should run for a good few days off the big battery (you can always give it a boost charge if needs be).
Give the encryption code out for those PH'ers that request via PM and job done

Roop, If possible all the better. I guess someone may follow your idea. I don't think you can get to the McDo during the actual race though. They have done major changes on the bit into the Techno Park (where the Karting is). Roundabout section. French road workers have to get their fingers out for it to be finished. Back to the WiFI >>> Will be fine for the build-up, people posting pics of Mad-Friday for example, should be able to just open up their lap-top and connect.

Plug in a solar charger or three, should keep the battery topped. Take a Wifi Ethernet Bridge and Router that can be hooked up to a 12v leisure battery.
