Discussion
Hello,
Ive searched the PH forums & tinternet and I can't find the info I need so here goes............
has anyone tried this piece of kit in LM???
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&Mo...
Was it any good?? was it a waste of time??
Will the reciever need a subscription card to view the LM coverage on Eurosport??
Will LM be on any local freeview French TV??
I just want something to pick-up race coverage while we are in the marque having a bbq and maybe get a few Euro 2008 matches!!!
Opinions are very much appreciated

Did the whole satellite TV thing two years ago:
1. Take your receiver and TV from home.
2. Buy a dish from ebay (plus cable).
3. Set up at campsite with suitable structure to hold the dish (we used a rotary washing line, upside down)
4. Electricity supply - v. important - we used a generator.
5. Tune in
6. Enjoy
Motors TV broadcast the entire race in 2006 - some of our party did not leave the TV even though (at Arnage camping) we are only 100 yards from the track.

Just bought this (it went on sale today!)http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/c.o.200804...
Looks like a good piece of kit. everything included bar a screen! The case acts as mounting for the dish so should be fairly stable. Compass and satelite finder are basic but work. 12v or mains.
My local Lidl had about 30 in stock.
Instructions are in English!

You could always look into the Kangaroo TV device which can be hired from the circuit. They are taking preorders now and it does look excellent. Haven't actually seen one in action but have heard good reports and taken the plunge and reserved a couple.Ive searched the PH forums & tinternet and I can't find the info I need so here goes............

What sort of cost are we talking here? They do sound excellent!http://www.kangaroo.tv
Sun. only - Euro 65 (£52)
Sat. + Sun. - Euro 80 (£64)
...so that would be one for the group then.
For those worried about reception I live four miles from Mulsanne and have a full HD system. Yes, it isn't legal here but all you need is a UK address for the subscription and install it yourself or get one of the many companies in France to do it for you. A standard size dish works fine. All channels are no problem. However, why not have a few friends round at home if that is all you are going to do? Much cheaper!
I tested the Maplin system out at our Venue nr Le Mans and it worked great dish was on the ground no need to mount it up high just as long as it clears buildings. I also connected my sky receiver with card to the dish and that works fine as well. Only a small dish but excellent picture and over 200 channels. Lot of them soft porn
