Grandstand tickets

Going for the first time to Le Mans 24 with a party of about 10.
Is grandstand tickets recommened, yes or no?
if so, where from, price, why etc.?

I'd go for the tribunes - grandstands.
Try the ACO direct. Also Club Langoustine usuall have a good selection.

I've been going since 1996 and have always had a tribune(grandstand) seat. It gives you your own space, with a seat, out of the sun or the rain, with good views and you can come and go as you please. Some tribunes are better placed than others. I'd recommend avoiding any of the pits grandstands becasue you cannot see into the pits at all unless you are in the very front row or you stand at the bottom on the stairwells. Those opposite the pits are OK. It's getting seriously late to try and get grandstand seats now, I think.

To me, a grandstand seat is as essential as a pocket radio and 'phones so you can tune into Radio Le Mans: I wouldn't go with one and not the other.

Fully agree with the Leaper - sorry I wasn't more specific.
You can still move around the circuit, but it gives you somewhere to sit, chill and Radio Le Mans it

If you're going to watch some racing, then a Grandstand Seat is an absolute must. I went for the fist time last year, and sat opposite the pits. I sat there from 10am through to 5pm watching the full build up and classic race, nursing the hangover from hell!
I shall do the exact same thing again this year. And Mrs Plug calls me stupid....

Looks like you have the makings of a true Le Mans-er. A grandstand opposite the pits is good, especially for pits action, the start and finish of the race, and THE SOUNDS! Also, it gets rather crowded in the vicinity near these grandstands at the start and finish....good for atmosphere but not good for getting more beers in when needed!

as we are on a budget it's another outlay for all. will dig through old threads and see options without grandstand.

i just don't want to be dissapointed or others not getting interested if we don't get a good spot etc. for a first time group

I shouldn't worry too much, you'll have a ball. There are various good spots to watch from around the circuit. Tetre Rouge and Porsche Curves spring to mind. Enjoy.
