Well if I could just have the car finished and delivered ... it's been over 10 months and I'm now worrying that I won't be able to put many "bedding in"miles on it before taking it abroad.

Oh, then there's a slight issue of fginding where I put the tent when I unloaded it from last year's trip! I think it may be somewhat worse for wear.

see that pickup at the bottom of the worlds tallest thermometer that is my transport to le mans this year......
only problem is the boat it is sat on isn't due in england until the 29th of may.... then it takes 5-7 days to clear customs... we are booked on the ferry on sunday the 8th june so if all goes well i will collect the truck thursday that leaves friday to fit the fifth wheel hitch to tow my trailer oh and im at a wedding saturday.
do you think i've left things a bit late?

what is it you are waiting for? No need to worry about the "bedding in" miles, 1,000 miles to le mans should do the trick!

Tickets and crossing are sorted, the stickers are half sorted, so that just leaves me to sort out a bumper respray for the trusty Focus.

OK, So you clear customs,..... Then! YOU HAVE GOT TO GET THE THING REGESTERED, SVA TEST, MOT, INSURED ON REGERSTRATION (NOT CHASSI N0) Even if your in the trade, the DVLA application takes up to 10 days! Do I think youve left things a bit late? Er..YES

Decided I'm not buying a new tent for just me to sleep in: so have bought a waterproof gazebo instead.
New car bought - and booked in for a new clutch on Tuesday. Stickers and stripes have arrived and the stripes at least will go on next weekend, weather permitting.

It was a somewhat tweaked BMW 850 that has a near full rebuild and has not been driven for three years. Still not quite finished, and after some stern head v heart words with myself, sense has prevailed and I will be in the Ferrari smile

Nice choice of wheels - got a soft spot for the 850 after a day out at mira with a tyre company many years ago.......... but would still take the ferrari as I have got an even bigger soft spot for them (the wifes uncle has got 7 and no other marque come close for me)!

Am I hell ready.

I've a list of things to do to the car before I go but not a lot of time to do them, as other commitments are getting in the way.

I'm looking into hiring a car for the trip frown

And my tent's got a whacking great hole in it, the cool bag didn't make it back in one piece and the blow up beer bucket is nowhere to be seen. I do have an umbrella to go though. Judging by last year, I'll need it!

Had the annual "set everything up in the garden to make sure it's all there" this afternoon. Got two tents without pegs and one with half the wrong poles, bits that hold the poles on the gazebo are missing furious

Shouldn't have done this to the old tent last year I suppose:

grabbed a bargain today fro Argos.
at the weekend i got a flyer through the door with an Argos sales leaflet inside, on offer is a 4 man tent reduced from £44 to £22....below are the pics of before and after.
theres shed loads of room inside.

took me about 15mins to rough set it up, to do a proper job on my own will probably take no more than 20mins.

code if anyone is interested in what i believe is a good tent and a fackin bargain at £22 is:- 340/9770
