On the track prior to the race - Classic Le Mans

Hello, i've heard of and seen that before the racing (usually the friday morn) that you can sometimes wangle a blast out onto the track. I've got a mk2 racing sprite and desperatley want to have a lap of the circuit or even a section of it. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, how one would go about it?
From the Porsche Curves to Tetre Rouge is closed circuit whereas from Tetre Rouge to Porsche Curves is public roads. The public roads are likely to be open until some time early on the Saturday morning so this means up until late Friday you can happily drive down the Mulsane Straight (the chicanes are usually in place), and through Indianapolis and Arnarge Corner onwards. The first part is the N138 to Tours so follow the normal road signs from Le Mans to get there...usually it's always a bit of a surprise to find you're suddenly on the Mulsane Straight! R.
Don't some of the car clubs get runs round the full circuit - maybe that's what the OP means. Like the Corvettes at the non-classic 24 hour. Can't help I'm afraid, but I think it's restricted to members of clubs for types which have competed in the past. Google is your friend!

At the classic you can pay to do full 24hr circuit laps but space is limited and getting hold of one this late in the day would be...lucky.
Laps cost £84 for something like 3/5 laps 'behind the pace car', though history suggests the pace car either wants to share the fun and sets a quick pace (read pisses off in to the distance) or can't be bothered and just lets everyone go past.

3) Generally only available through make specific car clubs that hook up with the ACO - like the one-make parking areas inside the circuit.
To be honest there WON'T be any left at this point - the Triumph allocation was sold yonks ago. All 300 camping spaces were sold out by Feb. and the Triumph lap passes had gone way before that.

With the current Euro rate that track laps are nearly £95 so I feel sorry for anyone who has been selling them at £84 (as I did to my group) as they will need to be asking for more money..
It's great fun, I did it in 2004 and my group Club Houx Annexers (a mixture of Lotus/Jaguar/Porsche/Caterham/MGF) are doing it again this year, we will also be parked up alongside the Triumph parking, say hi if you're passing!!!

As this years organiser I feel particularly bad about it, but even phoning Paris and the ACO has resulted in NON, even though they admitted they had lost the paperwork, I even offered to fax my copy, but they didnt want that !!!!!!!! Bastids
I'm lucky enought to get to it every year when the road is closed. We go to the marshal's briefing and somehow always miss the entrance at the Porsche Curves and have to do a full lap to get back there. Doh!
