What you have learnt from you trip this year?
Discussion
After an eventfull trip down im interested to see what everyone else had learnt this year. In our convoy we had one altinator fault, a oil spill, a near broken sump, a brush with the cops, a car fire and a forgotten tent.
Lessons learnt- check the car for ages before doing silly miles. Dont over fill on oil in a mad panic. Dont go on the A3 when your sump is 2" off the deck. Carry a wireing diagram for the car and a fire extinisher! Speaks for itself, dont forget your tent!
Yours?

If you want to go for a pose on Friday, do it earlier in the day.
5 days of bbq does indeed turn your insides out.
Make sure you are part of a big pitch as then there is always someone to watch over your camp.

DO drive to Le Mans with a knackered ball joint as the Euro breakdown cover will take you to a garage full of Ferarris/E-Types and Astons to get it fixed.
Go to the tram stop and buy your tickets at 9AM so you don't have to queue when you want to go in to Le Mans for the drivers parade.

- DON'T drive down on the Friday night as it feels like you've joined in halfway through proceedings and are constantly trying to catch up
That said, 3 hours and 18 minutes from Eurotunnel to Houx wasn't bad....
- DO miss stuff out and leave yourself wanting a bit more - already planning the trip for next year...

1. Never try returning to Bleu Nord in a car just after the end of the race (had gone to watch last hour at at Arnage) - Frog police love nothing more than closing roads and pissing off the English!
2. Lock tents - some b***ard raided ours, luckily all they got were a pair of torches, a cheapo MP3 player FM transmitter and a folding stool.
3. French campsite toilets are deeply unpleasant, and the showers are grotty and cold.
4. Other than the above, LM farking rocks!
