Time to start preparing for next years race.

What weekend do we think LM will fall on next year?

13th/14th or 20th/21st.

Hi t1grm,

I'm a bit surprised by your post. Usually, the date is not publicised until October/November because not only ACO but the Bib and others at the town of Le Mans need to all agree a date for the event. Also, if I were to guess the date for 2009 I would go for the following weekend, 20/21 June as it's closest to the longest day. Where did you get your info from?

For the past 4 years it's been on the 3rd weekend in June:

2005 18/19
2006 17/18
2007 16/17
2008 13/14

so 2009 20/21 ?

I thought it fell on the 3rd weekend of June

If thats the case then it will be the weekend of 20-21st

Either way, confused I shall be keeping both dates free until confirmed, and constantly remind fellow LM'ers not to getinvolved in marriages/christenings/giving birth yikes (so September is a no go zone! paperbag)in and around these dates.

As mentioned before, I think it is round about October that the dates get confirmed

It's always the 24th weekend of the year. Plus if you check the hotels in Le Mans now you will see they are all full for that weekend and empty for the weekends either side. Coincidence? I think not. smile

I too used to think it was the 24th weekend of the year. It was in 2007 and 2008 but the 25th in 2005 and 2006. I think the hotels tell the most likely date though!

As Brucie used to say "Good game, good game!".

I'll just keep both weekends free until one is made official by ACO etc.

Dunno about this.

It always falls near my birthday (the 15th) and I've had the last 3 at Le Mans!

Same again for my sister as hers is 14th.

I do hope we dont have a clash with the BGP though as that would be one tough call!

Hmmm..the FIA has provisionally scheduled the 2009 BGP for 21 June. Thank goodness for a recorder if LM is the same weekend.

When i first started my job i was asked if there was anything in particular I required. Not much i said, but don't expect to see me during LM week biggrin.

Personally (being the hyper organised type i am) the g/f and I tend to sort out the final details at Christmas and book from there.

Planning for 2009 started on the Thursday night before the race when this years virgins were already nicely hooked biggrin

My sister in law got married on the Saturday of this years race. But I managed to get down for Tues, Weds, Thurs, Came back late Friday night. major brownie points for attending. lost them as I had to keep running of to the bar next door to check up every 10 mins.
