Horrible story. My heartfelt sympathies to his family & friends.

Poor bu66er.

(I know that this is PH - but can we keep some decorum on this thread?)

the girl that sits next to me thought my comments out of place in polite society, so basically Yes my heart goes out to family and friends, but I consider that throwing a life belt, would be futile, given that his impact from the height onto water would be no more different than hitting concrete.

Accidents happen, this one - unusual.

That's really awful. I know someone who I,m sure was going on that ferry crossing. Fingers and everything else crossed.

It's strange this, you'd think there'd be more news on this elsewhere.

Small piece about it on BBC news-Hampshire section but not a lot. Suppose they need to tell family before releasing details and names etc.

Local news just said it was a 35 year old man from Swansea.

This guy was my bro-in-law's mate's, bro-in-law - think that makes sense - a real tragedy, and yes, from near Swansea.

He had been drinking and went for some fresh air... Can't say more than that really as obviously it's a very sad time for family and friends.
