I went to Le Mans on Tuesday, there was nobody there! hehe

I went around the car museum, had a wander around the site, I was the only person there, didn't see anyone else at all.

Weird! biggrin

Like an idiot, I forgot to take some photos, I wish I had done though.

What no one even to take your money as you went into the museum? Surreal...

What you've done there is make a catastrophic mix-up on dates

It is August!

Everyone is on holiday in France, so no races, or staff required.

Most days you can just drive into the circuit and have a look what is in the pits area.

went there myself a couple of weeks back to visit the hospital and others who put me back together in 2006 after big RTA. I'd been to the race countless times in the past and had no idea how stunning the old town is. Definately worth a look sometime, especially late July as they illuminate the walls of the town with moving projections at night.
Very strange cruising around Houx etc with nobody there!

Well, I was there!

Ironically, I was there on Tuesday as well, went to the museum...family and I had a picnic sitting on the stands...and by an even greater coincidence I believe we may both have travelled from Shropshire!?

I took some pics so I'll try to post them up!

We got there at 10am, did the museum 1st, then had a walk around the track complex. Left about 1pm and had a 'plat du jour' in the 1st bar/brasserie we found upon driving into Arnage.

Also found a lovely campsite just north of Le Mans at Neuville-sur-Sarthe, it was itself a little '28 days later' in that the crazy golf was all overgrown, as was the pool, two thirds of the pitches were un-used and going to seed, as was a toilet/shower block. It was wonderfull, very quite and huge pitches well marked out with shrubs/hedges on three sides. Definitely worth looking at as a Le Mans weekend campsite off track and only a few minutes away.

Correction!..Apparently, I was there on Monday! laugh

And I know a BMW 540i Touring with a wife, three kids and a roof-box on-board isn't exactly a Gulf Porsche but for a few seconds I just imagined I was Steve McQueen....LOL!

Mulsanne Straight...foot to the floor and no one else in sight...

I've always wanted to go back to Le Mans when the race isn't on and have a look around. Did you stand there, point at stuff and say things like 'I remember when'...?

Well, I wuz there! If you are coming later this year by the way, the museum will be closed for the winter for a complete remodelling. No more hotch-potch of eclectic cars, but a museum focused on the cars that have raced at Le Mans. It'll be closed until at least the spring.
