Irish, do a search for camping Bounty... I think this is your friend..
Not my scene, personally, I can't think of anything worse than bolognese whilst at Le Mans. But, I have heard excellent reviews, people who have been seem to return each year, so it must be good. I believe they have new facilities going in this year, excellent bus service, etc.

A little birdy told me that there will be a limited Houx Annexe, but allocated pitches, much like Houx. This at least will put a stop to the lunacy of this year with cars being turned away even though they had valid tickets. I also believe that KARTING NORD, MAISON BLANCHE, BLEU NORD, BLEU SUD will all be numbered.
Looks like camping is going to be at a premium from now on.

There is indeed a lakeside site at Spa but not to be confused with us at Bounty.
John and I are pleased to announce new managers at Bounty this year both with excellent chef/catering experience. Judging by the empty plates Mark no-one shared your tastes re: Bolognese on race night.....especially those who rolled in at 1:30am and were still able to eat!
Catering will be up to the same high standard "or better" this year ....including the Hog Roast BBQ night. Sadly the Classic guys and gals missed out on the HR last year due to "communication" issues with the supplier.
Hope to you some of you again and make some new friends too ....

I posted about the facilities this coming year (with photos) and Houx and Houx Annexe are both still very much there. All north of Houx Annexe, except the Team Langoustine site, has gone to provide parking for the new footy stadium at Tertre rouge. As a local, I'd back up the organisation of the Bounty since they have made a sterling effort to improve facilities over the years with new showers and toilets. It is an old adage that you can't please all of the people all of the time and with people rolling in at all hours catering is always going to be a problem, no matter what.Looks like camping is going to be at a premium from now on.

I stayed at Bounty 2008, and re-booked for 09 with a group of 15.
Foods good, drinks good, pitches for tents are good, toilets were ok (but told that they have been improved). Buses to circuit were excellent but pain on the pickups (again told will be better this year).
Would thoroughly recommend.

Look forward to seeing you and your group again and many thanks for your positive post. The toilets have been improved and for 2009 we will have urinals and more wash-basins and have someone on duty making sure they are kept clean. (I wanted to have a name and shame board but Steve said not a good idea lol).
Also the ladies toilets and showers are being re-furnished.
Mini bus service will also be improved regarding the pick ups.
We only have a few spaces available so anyone who wants to book had better be quick.

The basic problem we faced last year was water pressure. The new sanitaire area was supplied by the same supply as the restaurant. This meant pressures were low and at peak times with all flushes going the loos didn't fill quick enough and sadly peeps continued with "business as usual" with the obvious consequences ....
We have taken a new main off the incoming water main to feed the sanitaire area this year ...problem solved.

The main problem was a failure to properly communicate the drop off & pick up point with the French drivers and consequently peeps were being dropped at different places and obviosuly confusion reigned regarding the correct pick up points......add to that the inexplicable traffic flows (or should I say Jams) and the best efforts of the luvvly Gendarmes ....need I say more.
We had this cracked at the Classic simply by taking parking at Expo. At peak times the minibuses were parked at Expo and everyone knew where to find us. The Classic transport ran really smoothly ....
We'll continue to iron out the creases and expect this year to be even better than last. Looking forward to seeing many of you again. It's our plan to give loyal customers first option to book in future years as we'd hate to disappoint previous customers but it seems likely that early booking will be the order of the day.

TL is fully pre-booked but not everyone will go through with their booking. Give them a ring and they will put you on the list. I think there will be a lot of people who wont go this year what with Corvette not going to the practice days and their entry in doubt, other teams pulling out, and Aston Martin not yet confirmed 100% etc and the Euro not worth a pair of used pants from Primark. The ACO really should get it together, ferry booked, grandstand/entry booked courtesy of TL but have a look at the campsite booking form, Technoparc not even mentioned again etc etc. Unfortunately, TL site is now full. Hopeing to have a bigger area next year though, but will have to wait till mid Nov to find out. Drop TL a mail and get on the list ASAP if interested again.
