Lowdrag, is the stadium covering both north and south Houx Annexe? I assumed that it was going on the area called HA North last year and that the remainder might still be OK for next year.From the information provided to us from the ACO, there will be a Houx Annexe campsite for 2009.
However, it will be considerably smaller (possibly only Houx Annexe Sud)and it will be numbered pitches of 7m by 5m.
This brings it in line with the other numbered sites:
Houx
Maison Blanche
Karting Nord
Bleu Nord
Bleu Sud
As Official Agents for the 24 Hour Race we have requested a good allocation, although we anticipate that there is a high demand for the smaller number of places available.
Once we know more we will let you know.

Yeah...but numbered sites means jack...unless you are at Houx, dont think you will be led to your personal set out pitch....half of it will be taken already..and who you gonna argue with when the people arnt there.??and its dark and you are knackered....Get to Lemans early if you want choice pitches on sites...

Last year (and at the Classic) you were led to your pitch by a marshall on a bike. This was definately the case on Maison Blanche, Bleu Nord and Bleu Sud.Also there was additional security personnel from SPI, just in case there were any problems. So we expect that will probably be the case next year on whatever is left of Houx Annexe.
If you want to "stretch out" a bit, you may need to try one of the non numbered campsites.

Was quite funny this year. We got there pretty much as the opened on Monday morning and they didnt have any bikes for the marshals to show us to our pitch, so this big fat woman insisted on hitching a ride on the bonnet 
Had visions of her flying off. I was tempted to brake sharpish when we got to our pitch

I think you will find your tensing is incorrect - numbered sites MEANT jack.The ACO have actually been quite mature about the campsite changes - they didn't just change from free-for-all (old Maison Blanche) to strictly defined and allocated spaces (Houx). In '07 they moved to zones, in '08 to marked spaces so expect to be escorted to your space* in '09.
- If Houx is anything to go by the phrase 'escorted to your space' will be miss-leading. Some random Frenchie will spend 5 minutes standing around before hopping on their bike and cycling around like a blind sheepdog at a whistling convention and leading you right past your clearly marked pitch and on a tour of the Sarthe area.

I have stayed on Houx Annexe for the last 15 or so years. I think the main problem this year was that they seemed to have sold the same number of tickets whilst dramatically reducing the size of the site. It wasn't a case (at least where I was) of people pinching too much space, rather there was just not enough room to accommodate the numbers of tickets that had been sold. Normally we have space for turning the cars round, barbecues and the odd game of boule. This year it was like camping in the middle of a high density refugee camp.

I'd like to race you in the D type, but apart from not wanting to put you in the gravel trap the last time I raced with modern cars I found myself the meat in the sandwich between two GT3's approcahing the old museum 90 degree left hander. It wasn't fun. Sadly, my braking isn't up to your levels and so whileI would love tyo take you all on I don't really think it is feasable. I'll be there though with the D type weather permitting and with the cameras.
