I got this DVD as 2008 was one of the best Le Mans races in years.
To be honnest there are just too many errors, the narator gets people and car names wrong, he pretends he knows what drivers are saying to their teams, and generally anoys the anorak viewer all the way through.
For an ACO official review of the race it's just not good enough.
I'm just glad I got it cheap from Amazon!!
Anyone here got a copy? Is it worth getting, any comments to make on it etc?To be honnest there are just too many errors, the narator gets people and car names wrong, he pretends he knows what drivers are saying to their teams, and generally anoys the anorak viewer all the way through.

I watched it on a BA long haul flight last month (a much appreciated bit of the AVOD package) and quite liked it.
In short, it's no better and no worse than most of the other LM videos, so if you liked previous years you'll probably get on okay with this one. Production values are good, it gives you the basics of the story from the test day through, and captures a fair bit of the atmosphere. I wasn't too thrown by any errors - I appreciate I wasn't perhaps watching it with the most critical eye - but let's be honest, the commentary on these things always leaves a little to be desired (if I hear "the all important qualifying" or "the little Lola" again I may eat a shoe) but if it does have a failing it doesn't really capture the real drama of Minassian vs Kristensen over the last few laps.
I'd get it - it was a fantastic race to attend, and the DVD is not at all bad as a momento of the weekend.
