Le Mans 24hr - Where to stay???

Planning a trip to Le Mans24 this year, been looking at Speedchills and WhiteRabbitracing and Airtrack.
Anyone stayed with them before - any advice??

You really should ask about Team Lang too. They are a very viable option and well worth a look. They camp inside the Tertre Rouge corner to the Mulsanne, much better site than Beausejour, which is where the others are and closer to the village.

Do a search and look for reports of 2008.

I don't know about the other two but I personally have been flying back from Hong Kong to join White Rabbit Racing for Le Mans since 2005. Nice varied group of guys and gals with a varied group of motors. Never heard a complaint.

For the two years that I have been to Le Mans (2007 and 2008), I stayed with White Rabbit Racing. Will be doing the same again for 2009 as the set up suited me perfectly and is completely hassle free. I spent a little time searching round looking at other options, but will go back with WRR - the camp had a great atmosphere, they're pretty flexible and suit my budget.

You mean here? I doubt they'll be there this year unless they are camping on tarmac or inside in the new footy stadium!

I really enjoy reading your local news as you post it and I am sure that we all appreciate you keeping us in touch with developments while we wait for the next race to come along, but please put my mind at rest, this picture isn't of the Team Langoustine site is it? In the other thread (is the stadium being built?) you seem sure that the TL site is OK. Has this changed?

Team Langoustine? I think you can just the the remains of their flag buried in the dirt - lol. No, if you go here then you'll see all the photos I posted a couple of weeks back:-

Basically, as you go under the Tertre rouge bridge TL is on the right and it is Hunaudieres and all the camping on the left that has gone plus Houx Nord which is now just gravel waiting to be tarmaced. Houx Annexe and Houx are fine and I think there will be a new site near the roundabout at Porsche Curves but on that I'm not sure for the moment.

Er - I think that the left is on my left and last time I looked the right was on my right (except for the ex GF who took an aerobics classes and was facing the audience - her navigating was a bit off...) so the TL site on the - er - right is still intact - or was last week anyway. The photo above was taken on the inside of Tertre Rouge looking down the Mulsanne and all the inside has gone, right round to Houx Annexe and the roundabout. Anything outside (er - right that is) is OK.

Yup Al - I was standing on that slip road to the Mulsanne when I took the photo. Trying to explain myself another way without confusing you more, imagine you are at the entrance of Houx and Houx annexe facing north or in other words in the direction of the TR tunnel. After the new circuit entrance everything on the left has gone up to the RH bend before TL and the TR tunnel and on the right it is all one big building site. The actual road is blocked for the work in progress and there is a detour so it is impossible to access - all walled off for health and safety. You wouldn't comprehend the problems I had just to get in and take the photo of Houx Nord which is just gravel now. It will be months before the total picture becomes clearer and in the spring I'll take some more photos.

NOTE.. Team Langoustine site is totally fine and will not be touched, the land is controlled by the ACO. Do not worry.

I can only vouch for and echo what has been said already about White Rabbit Racing. I first went to Le Mans about 6 years ago with a friend who had been many times before so had to arrange nothing. The last couple of years though I had to sort out a trip for me and a group of friends. I entrusted the team at WRR with this job and they have come up trumps on both occasions.

They take the stress out of organising your tour, guarantee you a spot in their secure campsite leaving you free to arrive whenever best suits yourself and provide great support throughout the weekend which I found very useful as a bit of a Le Mans novice. They also have a great friendly forum which allows you to get to know other Le Mans goers before the convoys begin.

Do look around and make up your own mind but from experience I would definitely say White Rabbit Racing are an company you should consider.

Good luck with whatever you decide and if that is to travel with WRR in 2009 I will see you there.

Well I can only vouch for my own experiences. The only negative to my stay with WRR last year was a cold shower although this was only on one occassion. I didn't hear of anything negative during my stay from Thursday to Monday and chatted with many others I met in the WRR area.

There was a feedback thread on the WRR forum after the event in 2008 on which the showers were mentioned, but from memory that was about it. I am sure they will be adressing this issue for 2009 and seeking an alternative supplier.

To all Team Langoustine members reading this thread that are concerned about the state of the TL site inside the circuit at Tertre Rouge.

The ACO and TL have entered into a mutual contract regarding the Hunaudieres site. It will be available to TL customers as 2008 with the additional possibility of an extension to include the ACO controlled Hunaudieres area.

If you have any concerns regarding this site, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are booked in there and have been assured the site is fine, speaking to others the stadium site was over the road some way from TL last year, and any way from aerial pics there are houses near TL which wont be coming down.The TL site looks like its part of the circuit from the aerial, I cant wait to get in there, the track is right by it.....

I am not sure what people are trying to say here. I have made it clear in all my previous posts that the TL site, which is on the right as you go under the TR bridge towards the Houx and the rear circuit entrance, is not affected. "Inside the circuit", as quoted above could be construed as misleading but I am sure I know what you are trying to say. This whole situation has become somewhat tortuous from a base point that started out quite simply. Perhaps many people don't even know what we are talking about or have never been here?

Right, let's try again:-

If the bar is on your right just before the TR bridge then a bit further on the TL site is on the right. NONE OF THAT SITE IS AFFECTED BY THE BUILDING OF THE NEW STADIUM AND WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR 2009. (Hope you TL guys agree with what I am saying here)

At the moment ANYTHING on the left seems to have been built on since today I made the tour and it is all fenced off. This applies right round to the roundabout before the back circuit entrance and the Houx Annexe and the Houx camping. Houx Nord has disappeared and is now a car park - see my photos. The Hunaudieres site (on the left opposite TL) seems to have completely gone for the new football stadium.

If you want more photos then ask for a specific area and I'll supply them. I've already supplied photos of Houx and the Annexe plus what was the Houx Nord. Over to you if you don't understand.
