Er, title says it all: does anyone know the dates for the 2010 Classic? We've just been invited to the brother-in-laws 50th and I don't want to commit if it clashes...

Just find the date for Goodwood Festival of speed. They are bound to clash!

It's usually the same weekend as the 24, but July instead of June, not having a 2010 calendar I will guess at around 10/11 July.

As the 24 is never confirmed until about October of the year before, best guestimate is about the most you'll get I'm afraid.

Correct Al. If you plan on the second weekend in July that should be a guideline. It has been thus for the last two but the first one was in September in 2002 before they settled for the holiday period of July. 2004 though was the 3rd weekend in the month for some reason.

Some hotels have already been block booked by holiday companies for the two possible weekends in 2010. I managed to get the last two two single rooms in one hotel but all the twin and doubles had already gone in a block booking.

Cheers,

Tony

Quite common, the hotels in the area will get large revenue from the race weekends at Le Mans. For this years event, I booked our hotel in 2006 for the 2008 Classic Le Mans weekend, I didn't even need to state the dates. Likewise, I have booked the same hotel for 2010 Classic Le Mans under the same conditions.

For God's sake don't panic about accomodation yet! There are loads of hotels available here including a new one being built near the tram station at Tertre Rouge (200 rooms) and another at Mulsanne (53 rooms) for example. I have loads of choices for the Jaguar club and am sorting it out for them. Anyone who wants to reserve now just contact the Le Mans tourist office (they speak english) and speak to them about it. Goodness me, it isn't that tough you know! Also, for those who prefer, lots of people here rent out apartments and take in B&B if you prefer.
