Route from Le-Havre to Le-Mans

Ferry is booked and unfortunately this year cannot do the luxury of a week off so will be arriving in Le-Havre on Friday Morning at 7.00am ish
Wondered what the best driving route will be to Le-Mans from here, and any suggestions of a supermarket to stop at en-route.

I sometimes take the 138, Look for the sigh for Le Mans as you leave Le Havre (you will be heading for Rouen) takes you all the way into Le Mans. Having said that I join the motorway the A28 for a short time as you by-pass the city and go a little South, turn off J25 then again join the 138 1st right after the toll at the roundabout about 6k Super U is on your left (at a roundabout) you cant miss it.
From here its an easy route to Arnage keep on the same road and look for signs at roundabout to Arnage (thats if you are going to Arnage lol)
Oh 5k pass Super U Le Bounty our venue is on the right at the keep right island, you are welcome to pop in for a beer.

Depends what sort fo roads/driving you like and what car you're in.
Assuming you're using the Tuscan in your profile I'd suggest:
1) Turn right out the ferry terminal and crawl through Le Havre (why the let you off in the middle of rush hour I don't know).
2) Join the E44/N1029 (the French like to givet eh same roads lots of numbers...and then use different ones on maps vs road signs) to cross the Point du Normandee bridge (the big bugger).
3) Jump off and take 'D' roads the rest of the way, via either Lisieux/[St-Pierre-sur-Dives or Vimoutiers]/Trun/Argentan/Alencon (the D26/226 through the Forest is a very good streatch).
4) Either D338 (old N138) from there to Le Mans or D21 down to Conlie and the D304 (nice bit of roman road) to join the N138 at Saint-Saturnin (possibly popping in to the Classic British Welcome) just North of Le Mans.
That's more or less the route I take, though I tend to drop to some of the sub-D roads as they are more fun in a classic - the faster, smoother D's will probably be more fun in a TVR.
Buy yourself the yellow Michelin maps and make it up as you go along!

Im in the Tuscan and my pal is in his Subaru WRX so I guess we are looking for roads we can enjoy
, sweeping bends, bit of scenery with hopefully not too many members of the Gendarmerie on! 
to then arrive at Le-mans slightly parched and ready for a few 
before pitching the tent!

The Rozzers will be out with speed traps and Motorcycles, Be carefull 
The N138 is the main A road down to lemans, but more and more people seem to use the Motorway toll road. There are various Hot spots on the N138. There is a set of traffic lights by the town of 'Sees' The Rozzers are normally on motorbikes here, waiting for somone to pull away quick or go through the light on orange! Also 'Beaumont sur Sarthe' Nice bits of road either side of the town, so yet another place to keep your eyes open. Rule of thumb is Slow down when getting near any village area.
