French, locally recruited by the ACO
No proffesional UK outfits then? Do you think there would be any call for it? I have never been to Le Mans myself but would love to. I have heared there is a Security issue there so thought to have some English speaking guards would be good I also have a number of friends who work Belgian and French music festivals who speak French and we were looking to try and do something different this year as you get enough of the teenie boppers sometimes. I dont know who the Security are, but personally I wouldn't mess with them. Year before Last on the way back from Arnage at around 1am, the road was packed with cars and fans. One drunk silly cow stopped my car by standing in front of it and giving me a count-down to burn rubber, ( with hundreds of people walking in the road ). Obviously I didn't respond as she wanted and I gestured for her to get out of the way at which she gave me a wan**r sign. Charming. As she did this, two security types in full battle gear and on motorbikes turned up, and one of them pushed her into the ditch with some force then gestured for me to carry on. Her friends helped her. They are very heavy handed and I believe they have the law behind them unlike here in the UK.

Sounds like us working in Oxegen, Ireland. We have the Garda behind us as they cant be bothered. I actually have great pleasure in preventing idiots spoling things for other people. 5upra said:

This almost certainly won't be the ACO campsite security, who are really there to make sure you don't get on to campsites/into the circuit without paying. As such you only get them on the gates. From the description I'd go with them being the French police - forget what they are called but basically riot police. Basically the guys you REALLY don't want to pi55 off!

CRS & agreed you REALLY REALLY dont want to piss them off !!!Agreed twice - just ask the guy who decided to take a ford focus thing flying round the Houx roundabout last Mad Friday - guns drawn, CS spray and fairly prompt exit from the driving seat!

We saw that ! just got off the tram from Le Mans. The guy driving was French !!! and you are right, he was swiftly dealt with. The mood at that point was not good as the plod got quite a bit of stick from the crowd, quite intimidating and not in the spirit of Le Mans, hope it doesn't get worse otherwise we will all suffer. I think the Police let us get away with quite a lot........
