Just booked through Brian at 1st-tickets, staying at Maison Blanche!
Been looking forward to this literally all year so its a relief to get the tickets finalised!
Not sure what we will be driving yet, hoping to pick up a car sometime between now and June... for now though we need to concentrate on getting our transport sorted.
Which day is the busiest with people driving over from Britain? Looking at the 'who's on which crossing thread' it looks like Wed/Thu will be the most popular... what is the best time to travel in order to catch the British convoy?

I think you need to sort the ferry out as soon as! Over the years we have tried a number of days/times. This year, we are going Thursday morning and returning early hours 01.15hrs monday morning with Sea-France. This way, the ferry is full of like-minded fans and nutters and the drive down is such a thrill, you are never alone! You should arrive just in time for a reasonable spot in the campsite but all the good places will be taken. Just means a slightly longer walk to the Village/viewing areas. Getting the 01.15hrs ferry bach late sunday/early hours monday, means you can see the end of the race and take your time getting to the port, but it means you miss the sunday night party atmosphere. Dont forget, thursday night is night time qualifying and the grandstands are free to all, dont miss it !!!!
In 2007 I headed down on the Thursday morning, bright and early, arriving around 3pm at the campsite and I actually saw fewer cars than we did last year heading down Weds morning.
To be honest, in Houx Annexe where we usually stay, the place is usually around a third full if you get there Weds lunchtime (which means still good spaces to be had) and the flow of people into the campsite is pretty steady from that point right up until the Friday night/Saturday morning. There isn't really a peak time, so chances are you'll see people on the way whatever time you travel.
Just be sure to have your cars stickered up so other LM pilgrims know you're headed to the same place

I've driven down via Calais and Rouen overnight of the Friday immediately ahead of the great day on three occasions. Obviously, there are fewer UK cars about but there is still a surprisingly good number of LeManers on the road and mostly the kind you really want to see. The average speed overnight is, strangely, a lot higher than in the daytime !
