Not just another warning

The bottom line is that on the 31st March this year there will be a court hearing for my friend who was driving the car.The insurance was all settled nearly 2 years ago and it was assumed that was the last of it.WRONG!
Please note that irrespective of how it would appear, neither of us have ever been involved in the madness at the Houx roundabout. In fact, some a******e that year crashed a shopping trolley into my car and smashed the headlight as I passed the area on my way to the Carrefore. It goes without saying he and his mate were drunk.
Anyway, my friends lawyer has advised that the maximum penalty in France, if convicted of 'dangerous driving' is a 30,000 euro fine AND 2 years inside. Those of you that have gone crazy at the roundabout or even driven way faster than you should in France. If the unthinkable happens, you've been warned.
I will post the results after the hearing.

Look for a 'yellow diamond with a white border' for a priority road. The same again with a black line through it ends the priority. The french driver in my case was always a woman. Everybody including the hospital staff believed this. The police report arrived, and the driver was her husband! Irrespective though, whoever was driving had right of way according to the law. The unknown is if there was a sign, everything has changed down there.

I just hope that it's a proper, fair hearing and that justice is seen to be done. I can't imagine what it must be like thinking that you (or rather the driver) face a custodial sentence because people have lied.
There's no guarantee that they lied, but it does all seem odd. Unfortunately, there are no witnesses to the actual crash, only people who turned up when they heard it. Anyway, its in the lap of the Gods now.
The important thing though,for you guys, is to remember the possible severity of the outcome. You just can't afford something to go wrong if you are not 100% within the French law. Even then, who knows, coz it sounds like something fishy happened.
