I've done a search but the hamsters are sleeping, i.e. can't find anything. Can anyone tell me what the elec is like - socket type, is it free (paid with pass)or metered, will it power a caravan (lights, water heater, fridge)or is it just not worth it and bring a genny?

It's free and one of those funny euro style 2 pin plugs, not your camping type.

Usually 6-8 sockets per 'terminal' and by Saturday there will be 59 4 gangs to a socket. Not blown the shop up just yet so you should be able to run you pikey palace just fine.

We usually talk the Hymer in for the Tuesday night and it's always been fine hooking up and running everything, including the heating/air con.

There are various concrete posts dotted around the campsite (but NOT everywhere)!! these points usually become overloaded and its a scramble to see who can get pluged in first EXTRA T Sockets are a must I have seen up to 5 sockets comming off one plug!!!

Depending where your pitch is you will need plenty of extention cables If you get stuck finding you dont have enough sockets there is a 'Decalthon' camping/outdoor shop just north of the ring road on the N138.

Ahh stop yer complaining Isaac - we only blew-up one of the sockets, so just swapped and added our daisy-chain on to another socket (in addition to it's pre-existing daisy-chain ^_^).

For anyone that's interested there is a Houx pitch map from 2007 on the TVRCC website - http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/images/archives/NewH... that shows the water/electric posts as blue/yellow dots. From memory these are blue for electric and yellow for water (not the more logical water=blue!).

Not that this helps much as they tend to move all the pitch numbers around each year.
