Inspiration needed for this year's beermountain
Discussion
Some of you may have seen our effort last year on Houx Annexe, it was a 10.5 foot monster not far from the kebab truck.
Thing is, we have many newbies this year (some of whom have yet to prove their beer consumption prowess...) so I'm thinking a straight-up pyramid may be unstable. Last year's effort was produced by 12 drinkers, this year's will have 21 contributors (quite happy with our recruiting efforts!) but I'm thinking if we try to build a mountain much taller than 10.5 feet it'll just fall over.
So... any suggestions for other shapes/structures that we could build? Guessing we'll probably have around 3,000 bottles to build with by the end of the weekend

Do you glue your beer mountain together?
Yes, because we're cheating b
ds like that.HTH
If it's glued, why can't you just go higher and wider?
The trouble with going higher is that it gets above tent/car/gazebo height and becomes a windbreak which then gets blown over quite easily. Law of levers and all that sciencey malarkey...
Seems like no one has any idea's..
OK - We have all done the beer pyramid .. old hat.
Why not try a beer bottle castle .. OK - it does not have to be high but it can be long and deep going around cars and tents , marquees etc.... battlements can use up those odd big shaped bottles (sweet sherry
) and why not have a moat and a draw bridge to walk across..
English mans home is his castle and all that ..
Moat could be just simple plastic sheeting .. and if deep enought - a handy way to get around the no swimming pools ACO stuff..

How about making your beer bottle display INSIDE A RECYCLING BIN?
Easy, environmentally friendly and allows you more time to WATCH MOTOR RACING.
just a thought...
That's one thing that can be said for the pikeys... I'm pretty sure they womble up the empty beer bottles to reclaim the recycling value of them. So long as people don't smash them up, of course. Easy, environmentally friendly and allows you more time to WATCH MOTOR RACING.
just a thought...
