A few PH's have already talked about meeting up and the like. Me and 5 guys are driving down to Dover on Tuesday 9th night for a midnight ferry to Dunkirk. Should hit Beausejour camp-site Wednesday morning and looking to leave for a midnight ferry Monday.

As a local it hasn't been said here one way or another whether the Mulsanne/Arnage section will be closed on the Friday but it has to be said it is likely. It has been closed now three out of five years if memory serves. All that has done is to move the t-wats on to the mulsanne straight it seems. If Pistonheads wants to create a meet then I'd suggest a place further away and can recommend somewhere if needed where there is plenty of parking and a bar, but a couple of miles from the circuit. It is up to PH to decide though.

So somewhere to look a cars with respect, plenty of parking and a bar on the Friday...sounds like a perfect description of the Classic British Welcome in Saint Saturnin to me!

What a fantastic idea. If it is organised before we go, with map refs or whatever, then only the true PH will turn up as it will be too much of a pain for the t-wats to find us. Having just been to the Cheddar Gorge meet yesterday, I can say it was self policing, well behaved and everyone got on with everyone else.

I shall be at St. Saturnin as usual most of the day but if people want me to look for a bar or and to sort something out then I'm prepared to talk to people here, but an idea of the numbers would be a pre-requisite for parking I guess. If only a few cars easy, but if 50 then I need to rethink. I also need to fix a time really since a moving feast leaves some dry and others very wet inside!

From what I remember of the 'last' Arnage meet, there must have been around 100 cars at least. It usually started around 10am and people started drifting off around 1230/1

Somewhere to meet is more important than beers,etc. After all there was no 'facilities' at Arnarge corner.

Okay, well Lowdrag gets my vote as well, of course only if your up for it mate, wouldn't want to force you into it.
Just anywhere near by, with or without a pub is fine. Is there a town nearby that we could meet at, then descend on a bar?

As I alluded to earlier.

Was excellent last year.

Is there an issue with extra traffic there? It got pretty busy last year as the parking filled up.

I went last year in the Sprite, was a nice day.
I think that the PH masses would prefer their own space though. Turning up to an already established event will mean that we won't be able to distinguish between those who are there for the Classic British Welcome and those there to meet other PH'ers.
I still support a village or town a few miles from Le Mans where we can congregate and know we are meeting as PH'ers.

Parking is the thing. At Ruaudin there is the town square and you can get about 25 cars on it at a time plus the streets around and a bar opposite for example. Just over a mile from the Mulsanne straight. One bar with very good food and a square and plenty of parking in the streets is at Mulsanne town centre next to the church called the Queensland. He's laying on things this year again like a BBQ but I haven't got the definitive details from him. He really wants to push the boat out this year. It really depends how you all feel about things. There is a bar a few miles away with enormous parking (mostly for lorries but midday not many anyway) on the road from Le Mans to Parigné but thatmight be further than you want to go. I leave it up to you lot to decide and I'll talk to a bar owner for you. I am in the UK this weekend for the opening of the Hawthorn museum but we have plenty of time to discuss.

That's really good of you mate. The square sounds nice and if more people than expected turn up then we'll deal with it at the time. If over the next couple of weeks a few more people express and interest then the lorry park would do as well.
We'll try to gauge who's interested and see where it leads. As you say, we've got plenty of time.

What about meeting up in the little industrial estate area at Mulsanne? Its not the most salubrious location, but you can stroll through to the track at Mulsanne corner, it is reasonably out of the way and usually nice and quiet. Only a short stroll to the centre of the town too. Just a thought.
