I have just received an e-mail supposedly from L D Lines informing us that our crossing on 8th June has been changed to 0745. The e-mail looks a bit dodgy but not sure if that's just the way my phone is displaying it. Has anyone else received notification of the change of crossing? I would assume all the early crossings have been changed.

A quick gander on their site suggests a new ferry is joining the fleet. I'm not going with LD so this is all based on the below.

"LD Lines has announced the launch of the largest ever fast ferry to operate on the cross channel routes between England and France, with the introduction of a brand new, high speed Incat 112 metre Wave-Piercing Catamaran to its Dover – Boulogne service from 29 May 2009. "

"The fast ferry will operate up to four return sailings daily between Dover (Eastern Docks) and Boulogne with a crossing time of 1 hour ; from Dover at 0415 ; 0745 ; 1230 and 1900 and from Boulogne at 0700 ; 1045 ; 1700 and 2230."

I bet Dave's just "over the moon" about the prospect of a new, untested, hopefully watertight ferry!

I got the same e-mail from ' Celine Ledrait '. Glad to see I'm not the only one - as you say, it looks like the sort of thing you'd send straight to the junk folder!

Have to say, new ferry looks somewhat plusher than what Speed Ferries had to offer...

I have that email too, although AOL thought, along with the rest of you, that it was spam, so I had to retrieve it from the spam folder!

Anyway is genuniue, they will have the new fast ferry by then and seem to be moving most people on to it.
