Terrestrial Telly in France

Maybe one for Lowdrag this?...

Instead of trying to rig up some kind of elaborate satellite set up in our motorhome I was wondering if the race is being bradcast on local or national terrestrial telly?

Also how would i go about receiving it. Is it digital or analogue and will UK kit receive it?

I believe terrestrial TV over there is on a completely different frequency which UK TV's can't pick up, but I might be wrong... even if they can pick them up, you might find it's not broadcast on terrestrial TV.

My group went with the sky option last year and it worked a treat. Short length of scaffold hammered into the ground. Old sky dish mounted to that, and old sky box (both leftovers from one of the lads' upgrades to Sky Plus) and your UK viewing card. MotorsTV covered the majority of the race last year and it was great after hours by the track to be able to watch the race back at the camp with the grill on and some cold cold beers

They did? Wasn't '08 the first year of the 24hr going back to Eurosport (who think people only want to watch the first 30/last 60 minutes of LMS races and would prefer to watch 135 minutes of recorded cycling and 150 minutes of live cycling!!!!)?

Yup last year it was on EuroSport had to keep switching from 1 to 2. Year before its was on the Motor Channel.

French TV is a different system from English so you would need a TV that can switch systems most modern type do.

Erm... maybe. I had consumed a shandy or two at that point so it might have been Eurosport I guess...

I believe that France is Secam and they are like the UK going to Digital - For the Race ask Lowdrag

You can view analogue SECAM signals on a UK PAL TV, but it will be in black and white because the colour is encoded differently
