Never, in 30 years, stayed at anything other than an ACO campsite when visiting Le Mans and already have Bleu Nord lined up for this year (surprised at how convenient and civilised it was last year).
Also have the option of 3 nights at the Spey resort/Spey campsite which is apparently a 10 min drive fron the circuit (allegedly)...quite like the idea of some decent showers/swimming pool - anyone got any experience of it ? Also is there any means of getting to and from the circuit other than using your own car (bikes won't fit in a Marcos)?

If you search on here you'll find threads and you'll also find a section on it in the Club Arnage Guide (Clubarnage.com) - it's called Spay not Spey though which might help your searches.
It's a lovely site, we've stayed there a couple of times but not for the race weekend itself. It's a municipal campsite, you can't normally book in advance and if you ring you'll need to speak some French. It's reasonably priced and the toilets/showers/washing up areas are well maintained and cleaned. It is around 10 minutes from the circuit but you'd have to bear in mind the race traffic will make it different. There isn't a swimming pool though.
