Where to go after the race?
Discussion
Our ferry back to the UK isn't till Wednesday morning, so we've got 2 or 3 days to play with following the race on Sunday.
Where would people recommend? I quite fancied going south near Nantes and setting up camp somewhere near the vinyards, but not sure if I fancy all those extra miles away from Calais for the sake of a couple of days.
Is there anywhere worth going further up north? I'm really not familiar with this part of france at all. Brittany / Normandy worth a punt?
Cheers!

Given the choice I'd head down south an hour or so to Saumur on the Loire then if you want to tour a little then head East along the river.
Lots of vineyards
, good towns and villages. An easy drive back up to Calais and the weather down there is usually better than Le Mans.
If you want to head north then Honfleur is a good bet a already suggested or if you wanted a last night stop close to Calais then St Omer about 40 mins drive south is a nice place with a large square and good places to eat. Recommend the Hotel St Louis. Ideal if you've got a fairly early ferry.
