Yep, we're off next Thursday too. Chunnel at 9.20am, Cerbera, 911, BMW and Alfa convoy...
No sticker tat on the cars, just a group of lads going for a weekend of driving, nice scenery, beers and all important no sleep with the sound of high powered race cars through the night....
Have been to Le mans since 1994, can't wait for the change..

Well in a total contrast to Le Mans we're staying at http://www.hotel-an-der-nordschleife.de
But at least the only thing powered by a diesel engine will be some of the cars going to the race..

We stayed there last year in the apartments. Top spot. There is a huge campsite across the road on the bank overlooking the track which is full of mad germans and Dutch. There is also a good bar right by the hotel entrance which sells pint bootles of ice cold 5% lager for about 2 euros.
We had booked to go again this year but had to pull out unfortunately

Yeah group of 4 of us going; nothing fancy car wise this time but taking the kits over for the Old Timers Grand Prix in August. Going early Friday, camping at Mullenbach, plan is bbq Friday evening and Pistenklause on Saturday.
Went to the Ring on Easter Weekend, ate in the Pistenklause every night - the argentinian filet steak is fantastic. Just don't expect to wear the same clothes again after a night in that restaurant! I'm very keen on the N24, though it'll be next year before I can make it down there!
We're booked into the Pistenklause on the Sunday night for some post race steak on a stone!
I found this portable TV that looks pretty neat: http://www.firebox.com/product/2271/Portable-Digit...
Saw plenty on ebay, going rate seemed to be about £80. I'm not going to bother since the Burgstube where we are staying has got wireless so we'll be able to keep up to date with the race every so often. There are big screens around the GP circuit, we'll prob watch the first couple of hours of the race from there before heading off around the Nordschleife.
