Last min booking to Le Mans,

but only for 24 hours, cross very early sat, back late sunday.

Its a bit of a mission, but it'll be fine.
Does anyone know of any 24h accomodation? Tent, campsite, hotel etc.
Don't really want to pay for a full campign ticket (although there is still space with Langoustine - and will do that if i have to)

There were suggestions that there were still camping tickets available from the main ticket office.

Probably just as well sleep in your car, I mean a lot of people stay out all night on Saturday and even sleep around the track itself.

We stay in a campsite about 6kms south of Le Mans in a village called Roeze Sur Sarthe, its 15e a night and there is usually enough space to just turn up and camp, also just far enough away that if you need to few hours peaceful kip you can.

I've done the quick trip a few times too...down late Friday/ early Saturday arrive at 04:00, sleep in the car in Parking Blanc, up at 08:00, sleep in the car sometime late Saturday night/early Sunday, then dash back to Calais and get the Eurotunnel round about 21:00.

Big problem I usually have with this is keeping awake at around mid day Sunday!

I would not do this unless I had a grandstand seat too....somewhere to rest up.

As long as you not too fussy where you camp, e-bay has a few bargains, just have to watch a few of the more dodgy sellers who will meet up with you over there etc!

I really do think, based on a good number of years of experience, that the best practical car park is Parking Blanc, assuming you're not camping and you made need access and exiting capabilities, as in geeting back to town for a hotel, restaurant, favourite bar. Whether or not you can get tickets there at this late stage is questionable.

Thanks for that, which one is Parkin Blanc? Are tickets only available prior to the event or can i attempt to buy on the day?

I have been going for years and parking on the road by the main entrance, however last year the car got towed away and left a real sour taste for the remainder of the weekend once we retrieved it!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Woo Hoo Just managed to book a carparking space in the new Rainaires carpark out behind the Aerodrome -only 15 Euro's too :-D

I dont mind the walk, as this is where i used to park for free (road next to it) prior to the nightmare towing scenario...has anyone else ever parked here??

For the record, Parking Blanc is outside the circuit and starts just across the road from the entrance to the circuit that is at the start of the pits straight, and it extends down as far as past La Sarthe (previously Maison Blanche) grandstand. It backs on to the eastern side of the aerodrome. The ticket gets you an assigned space which is yours throughout the week so you can go and come as you please using your assigned space. In other words it is better than jsut turning up and parking in a space that you are directed to.

I think that Parking Blanc is available to ACO members, ticketing firms, and then the public in that order, although I am sure tickets can be booked on the ACO website early on. I have never seen tickets being sold on the day and I assume that they must be prebooked.

It is a carpark for cars only ie no space at all given over for tents, although usually some people do try and get away with small ones, which can cause friction as they will be encroaching into someone's allotted car space. I would, therefore not recommend Parking Blanc at all for people who want to camp: the specific camp sites are far better for space and other facilities etc.
