Does anyone know what this font is called or where it is available?

its not really font but more like a logo, though Futura extra bold condensed is pretty close, then make it italic

Then squint through your left eye at 33.5 degrees and it's indistinguishable

Any ideas on the basis for the curvier "24" ?

Based on the sticker threads last year the "24" font is a custom font owned by the ACO and they got the legal threats out last year to people using it.

They also have the rights to use the "24" and "24hr du Mans" in relation to bleach and cleaning products - or something equally bazzar.
