Houx Electricity??

Hi all,
I'm going down this year with 5 mates, all of which are popping their LM cherry. I've been down a few times with my old man and can't wait for a great weekend with some good mates and some good racing. We've got camping in Houx, and the burning question at the moment is whether we will be able to get electricity?
We are fine without it, but if there is the possibility of a beer fridge and tunage/radio LM without batterys, we are going to take it!

Unless you know how close you are to the hook ups make sure you have a good long (50m) extension cable. By Friday there are usually quite a few people sharing the few sockets per row so a 4 gang is always a good move, as are plenty or plastic bags to waterproof and tank tape.
Don't unplug another's socket without checking where it runs and making sure you have warned them and that it's only just whilst you put an adapter in. I know people who had their entire weekend's food supply ruined by someone who just unplugged their supply. Not funny. Their warm beer even less so.
When you pack the cables away, especially if you have a wall plot, always a good move to run them through your hand with a wet wipe or two. Don't be surprised at the rag turning a little yellow

They are but they also have an earth pin in them so make sure your adapter is for earthed appliances (ie it should have a hole in the middle (ish) to recieve the male from the socket. I'm not up on the tec terms but all will become clear. Chances are that if you are arriving Thursday morning onwards you'll end up just plugging into someone else's UK 4 gang anyway. Make sure you check what fuses they are running though and try not to overload it.
We leave the kettle boiling to the camping stove and mainly just run a few lights, fridge, radio and phone chargers. I'm sure you can run more but best to be on the safe side than the one who blows the electric for 39...

Just make sure you are in Houx and not Houx Annexe... I'm sure you are aware of the difference, but the main one is that Annexe doesn't have power (well last time I was there).We're just inside Houx this year
Cold beers ahoy!!!I made a few years ago, parts from CEF (City Electrcial Factors) a short extension lead with the european two pin plug on one end and then another 6way european sockets adaptor on the other, so I could unplug any existing plug, plug it straight back into the new european extension lead and then my very very long extension lead (you might nead 100m) that has european on one end and UK extension socket on the other so all our UK stuff doesn't need an adaptor.
If you get cold in the night just huddle up to the main electrical socket as by then it will be so over loaded that it will be nice and toasty.

Yes - folks please remember that water and electricity don't mix.I realise this isn't news to most of you - it's just aimed at the twunt who removed the bin bag I'd wrapped around one of our extensions leads to daisy chain off of it, then not been arsed to put the bag back on. Come morning we had this great line of people walking towards us asking "If your electic off too?" Water had got in, shorted the whole daisy chain and fried the socket on the post (was actually black).
Of course all easily sorted - we just daisy chainged off another socket
