The LE MANS 2009 thread...

The time has come for me to start planning my this year's trip to the Le Mans 24hr race.

Is anyone else from this forum going?

I've seen loads of threads talking about Le Mans plans, some right back into last year, but I assumed that these must relate to some other event; surely it would be borderline autistic to be even thinking about, let alone booking for, a weekend's racing that far in advance?

Anyhow I'm thinking of maybe an early Thursday morning ferry Dover to Calais/Boulogne - will anyone else be driving down then? Also does anybody still drive the old road (138?) from Rouen? It's seemed quite boringly devoid of kool kars since the motorway opened.

If anyone is goin' then see y'all there and enjoy the race...

I've heard of it but hardly anyone bothers I don't think. Why would you bother to go all that way for a few cars and a drink or two?

I am seriously ridiculously over excited to the extent that i already have major butterflies in my stomach and my arms are tingling a bit. its like that feeling you get at christmas or the day before summer holidays as a kid!!! maybe this year is more special because last year with speedchills was so good and this year will be better. its also good as we get to see leo since you are not about any more and that makes it better.

Why is it for some reason I'm more hyped and looking forward to it this year than any other year?

Serious question time now - what kind of real chances do people think the Astons have of beating (to an oily pulp) the Audi and Peugeot diesels? It would be simply awesome if they crossed the line together...
