For the 1st time ever, I'll have room for a fridge, so I need to know where to pick up a portable, quiet and cheap!! generator.
Any suggestions where to buy one welcome.

Cheers,

Simon.

This comes up every year so have search on here or on club arnage / beermountain.

Cheap ones aren't really worth the hassle IMHO - they are noisy and don't have enough grunt to keep a good sized fridge going plus a few lights etc.

My choice would be to:
1. Buy a decent one which you can keep re-using each year - Honda and Kawasaki do decent and quiet ones!
2. Rent one from a hire place

Ideally you need more than 1kw to be of real use.

Also remember to keep it locked away / put a good lock on it!

4 stroke ones are the best bet, i.e. quietest, most compact and most powerful - the Honda ones are pricey (but good, in fairness) but you can get no-name ones for less than half the price, e.g.

yea, its soooooo quiet at Le Mans - like you're going to hear the generator. Get a 2-stroke Wolf or similar, Makros £49.95 plus VAT. Runs all day long, economical etc. We have run 2 x full size fridges plus lights and mobiles etc on one of these for the past 4 years plus one year 4 x electric cool-boxes and lights etc etc. Not that noisy especially for Le Mans.
