Arnage at night

So, having been told that Arnage parking tickets were all sold and have that waiting for 1 1/2 hours on Saturday night for a bus down there wasn't such an appealing idea, what's the general view on what it was like down at Arnage on the Saturday night ?

Was it quiet down there ? Or did the buses (I'm assuming there were more than one....) actually manage to shift enough people to make it worthwhile waiting to get down there ??

we popped down to arnage a bit later than normal - i guess about 2.30am, there was a fair crowd there, poss bit less than prev yrs but the roads were just about empty - i think we passed/were passed by about 8 cars.

We took the bus down there a few years back.

Took 1 hour to catch bus there, 2 hours back and all thoughts of stopping off at Mausane(sp) went out the window when we saw the number of people trying to get on to the already full bus there - at midnight!

It wouldn't be so bad but the queue's are in fields where you can't see anything other than the other people around you and it got tiresome very quickly. All in all even though it was a great experience watching the cars there at night it wasn't worth the down sides.

We'll not be doing that again in a hurry.

The bus queus did look horrible...I'm just glad i only drank a stumpy or two during the day then drove down in the evening. Much easier!
People with out parking tickets seemed to be parking on the road at Arnage (and my BJ camping ticket wouldnt let me into the nearer parking field) and they didnt seem to check at all at Mulsane.

We had a fairly easy run down there on the race night with my mate driving my AMV8V (because I was already too drunk) with my mate giving it some revs for the walkers on the way down :-) Car park was rammed but was usable. Don't remember much of the racing tho :-S

I thought it would be a good idea to walk there from Bleu Sud at 2am because it didn't look too far on the map and the first sign I came to said 2km so I thought that's a right result and shouldn't take long at all.

Looking back, I think that sign referred to the village with Arnage corner being a further 3km so all in all I walked about 10km in the pitch black but it was all worth it for a hefty dose of this....

It was a win mate....

Left Maison Blanche at 2am - drove straight to Arnage, no queuing on the road at all - although passed quite a few people walking to/from - Very Harsh.

Parked up on the first field on the right by Arnage - was expecting an €8 charge, but chappie on the gate just let us in (3 cars). The crowds were still busy at 2:30, but not manic - although there were plenty waiting for the bus.

Left Arnage at 4am and drove down to mulsanne corner, roads empty, easy parking (no charge again) about 50 people queuing for the bus to leave all looking pretty unhappy. Stayed until a little after 6am after getting bored of watching the safety car.

Had a cracking drive back to Maison Blanche in a mates convertable - a beautiful and stunning morning sun rise with the roof down.

We will be following this plan again next year, forget the bus its awful, just drive out around 2am - any earlier and it coould be carnage.

We took us peddle bikes and went along around 2.30am and stayed for a couple of hours.

Better than walking, easier than driving and a bloody great spot that time of night

I was amazed how many people sleep on the bank whilst the 'vetts' go by

As usual, parking was free. We managed to get a space in the road but the que to get there was bad. We went at about 11pm not sure we will bother again.

Viewing at Arnage was no problem for us. Got up at 3AM, hopped in the car from Basejour, 10 minutes later we were parked up and stood by the track. Few people around but no problem walking straight to the front. Highly recommended, esp when you hear 2 of the Astons blast off from there.

Was going to do Mulsanne but dont it before and thought it would be more of a different view watching from tetre rouge, which it was. Parked opposite parking rouge on that slip road with the big kerbs which was no problem. I could not believe how quiet it was out, normally there are stalls on the street by the bridge and all sorts! Maybe they had already packed up at 4.30, but I swear they were there that time last year!?
