It was entered to increase the resale value of the car, nothing more. The mechanics were happy smiley people apparently after it pulled in after one lap (a slow lap at 6min 02 sec) and was shut off. They had absolutely no intention of doing any more. An example of this is the fact that they had gaffer tapped 4 freebie torches around the numbers to comply with the regs.
Yes, JLOC is the Japan Lamborghini Owner's Club. They were borrowing bits from road cars all week to get the car through quali.

They mentioned it several times on Radio Le Mans - that a race entered car in Japan would be 'worth' more when it comes to selling it... knowing Japan and the Japanese - I agree with them.Yes, JLOC is the Japan Lamborghini Owner's Club. JLOC is the Japan Lamborghini owners club, I understand they had reliability issues with the car all week, and were robbing (not literally 
) road cars for second hand parts.
It was never going to happen for them this year, we were routing for them to get going but they did about 1/2 hour in practice, 10mins in qualifying and 1 lap of the race!
It's a shame because I am sure other teams who were in the reserves would have loved a chance to race, I am also surprised Lamborghini themselves don't consider some assistance as it made the fabulous Murci a laughing stock in front of the Fezza's and Vette's etc.

What a total joke. Absolute rubbish! How they are ever given an entry when it's clear to everyone that they are way off the pace amazes me.
Our group calculated that we cycled further(each of us, not in total!) over the course of the weekend than the 'Lambo' travelled under its own steam.
At least with the demise of GT1 as we kno(e)w it means we should be spared next year.........

It was so bad it was almost like going back twenty years when I seem to recall the odd wheezy C2 car expiring on the warm up lap.
None the less I sincerely hope there weren’t hoards of flag waving Japanese that made the long trip to wave it on, what would they have got up to for the following twenty three hours and fifty four minutes, actually don’t answer that.

The few "flag waving Japs" were waving on the Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder in LMP2 ... Goh know a thing or two having won the whole shooting match in an Audi R8 in 2004 ... but then they had the sense to get Tom K in the car which is always a help.
As noted above JLOC pulled the same stunt in 2007 ... I thing they basically trashed the thing in practice and bolted enough road bits together to start the race to much the same effect as this year. Mildly amusing in the Privateer spirit but I'd rather have seen the WR.
The 2008 Murcielago entry was a proper job with Russian money - was running well into Sunday IIRC. Reiter had something to do with that and sold some bits to JLOC for this years car but had little more to do with it.
