Generators on ALL night

Ok, it used to be an unwritten rule but not anymore!
Please don't be selfish enough to run generators 24/7 on the campsites. People always used to turn them off at night.
The Brits next to us had one running constantly to power a fridge (even though it was cold enough at night to not bother.) The Danes opposite had thoughtfully positioned their genny away from their own tents as it was too loud for them and right next to our bloody pitch instead!!! Neither would turn them off when requested politely (and impolitely.)
I'm bringing a bag of sugar next year, you have been warned!

Hey at least it's different from the usual 'idiots on the Houx roundabout' rant. And yes it is the best rant I can come up with because everything else was pretty good. It was Beausejour btw and there wasn't a race Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday night.

PAH, Stuff the generators, all i heard all night was cars thrashing around, FFS can someone not do anything about them?
Apparently some of them were WELL in excess of the speed limits and i never saw any gendarme go chasing after them and giving them a speedin ticket!
I over heard someone suggesting well over 200MPH!!!

I can sympathise with the OP - a generator may be an internal combustion engine, but when it drowns out the noise of the racing it is not good. Any half decent fridge will be fine overnight without power so no need to keep the generator on constantly. If people want all the luxuries provided by that much power they are the one who should stay this side of the channel rather than go to a field in the middle of a race track.

Only the Petrol cars are noisy, the Audi's and Peugeot's are nice and quiet

If the ACO ban petrol cars it will make sleeping in MB soooooooooooooo much easier.

Derv burners might be faster or rather more fuel efficient but they are still too quiet for motorsports, i'm still pleased Pug won though heh heh.

Seriously, I do get the point though. Not really necessary to run one of those little buggers all night. It gets cold enough, and a fridge should hold it's chill for a good few hours.
