LMC - much doing before the weekend?

I know that for the 24 hours in June there's always plenty going on for the preceeding week, but what about the Classic? It's such a brilliant experience I'd like to extend it a bit, but don't know if there's much on prior to the Friday. We don't come home till the Monday anyway, the Arnage bar (opposite the goat house) being great on the Sunday evening,but anyone have have info or been there a bit longer? Also if anyone else going earlier, it'd be good to link up. We'll be tunnelling and camping at Karting Nord with Speed Chills all being well (they were brilliant last time).
Cars arrive Thursday and scrutineering starts.
Friday Club cars arrive and qualifying starts.
Saturday & Sunday you know about.
There is no invasion of spectators and nothing to my knowledge arranged on the back of the Classic as there is for the 24 Hours.
We see lots of nice cars driving around as many take a week and tour around a bit, very laid back.Lots to do around here for a week but not Classic based.

It depends what you want to do. There is always a great road trip to La Chartre sur le Loir - about 45 minutes - to visit the Hotel de France, see all the pictures and autographs, dine leisurely and waft home. The Hotel was the Aston Martin base during the 1950's and reeks of atmosphere. Then there is the new restaurant, the History quite well hidden it has to be said on the industrial zone north of Arnage. Nothing but B&W photos of the 50s/60s everywhere, a Harley up on a pedestal, several old cars on display inside and now he is building a workshop outside for people to follow an ongoing restoration. From 13€ the menu too.
Dine in or out, or book - they can seat over 200. If you like your "culchur" there is the old town of Le Mans, if you like cars there is the ACO museum, completely rebuilt this year and I reckon a lot better. But as regards things like St. Saturnin no, there is nothing planned at all.

I'm not sure the address would help a lot but I'll describe how to get there because it is not accessible from the main dual carriageway into town north of Arnage. It's called the Boulevard Pierre Lefaucheux by the way, (the dual carriageway that is).
OK; north out of Arnage to roundabout where Super U is on the left. Straight on into town on the dual carriageway. Further on you will see on the right a company called Cartercash and a road before it that forks right. Take this road to a roundabout, straight over the roundabout and carry on in the industrial area until you see Calberson on your right and a big sign Vitaxis on the left. Turn left here (it's a dead end) and the restaurant is at the end on the left. Loads of parking especially at the weekend since all the factories are closed but plenty enough anyway even in the week. I've eaten there several times and whle it isn't a top restaurant it has the standard fixed-price menus and a la carte as well plus some pretty good wines. It's worth it just to see the photos I reckon.
