PH Le Mans Newbie Guide?

Evening,

Going to make a concerted effort this year to come over for Le Man with some friends. Other than booking some ferry tickets and turning up, I'd like to plan a little ahead of time. Can anyone offer any tips or link to a FAQ of some sort? I assume the car stickering is mandatory!

If you want detail, Club Arnbage do an excellent guide, but by the time that comes out it'll be too late.

Check out the Beer mountain website for info on campsites etc. It all depends what your looking for at Le mans, there are some of us who go to watch cars racing, there are others that use this weekend as an excuse for a stag do Not sure why though as there are no spare women there!!!!!! And french beer is bloody expensive! The pound against the Euro is not good

Whatever you go for the atmosphere and pure passion about the whole event is mindblowing,My Eleventh year of Le Mans and i just love everything about it from the racing,partying and crazy english of which being part of is an honour LOL.I have never seen one ounce of trouble in such a male orientated event,once the journey to Le Mans has happened i think it is something that will always be a part off you but in a good way.

Try looking for 'club valan' campsite.There are three of us going campsite looks really good,right next to the track.Hurry up and book everything soon,uve already left it pretty late!

Couple of things not to miss.

Make sure you go on wednesday or thursday so you can see the night-time qualifying, nothing on the friday. Grandstands are free for that and you can get over the pits for some fantastic pics.

Try to get to the Hunaudieres Cafe on saturday night. Have a look on youtube for some night-time footage and you will see why.

I went to lm last year for the first time, and i thought it was amazing... I got the impression that really it doesnt matter THAT much where you are camping - the atmosphere is wicked, and as i read on a thread earlier, its insane the amount of fellas there and the amount of intoxicated chaps there and theres no trouble... just an awesome trip in general, really looking forward to June for round 2 of my lm24 experience! The only problem we had was we were in bluesud and unless we drove, the supermarkets were ages away. You can bet your bottom dollar we are taking ALOT more beer and food with us this year. Main problem was me and another passenger drinking our weight in beer in the car between calais and lm.

awesome time though you will love it! I hope the weather is the same as last year, it was amazing until the final night!

you will always get Beausejour, bit chavvy and a long walk to to village and the toilets/showers are s**t but at least you will be there ! Quite often, a number of PH members sell their excess tickets through drop-outs etc nearer the time, bit of a gamble though.

Try asking on Beermountain for anyone with advice or maybe spare tickets for sale long shot but worth a go

Matt. We left the sunday before the race to go to Le Mans last year and it was cold/wet and miserable right up until the friday where it was lovely and hot. I got a nice tan/burns on me(if you burn easy like me sun tan cream is a must or you will be lobstered)
Last year was My first time and Im hooked I think. I cant go this year due to its my final year of college (studying motor mechanics) and I might not have all the work done by the time Le Mans comes around. Im well guttedb Im gonna miss it
