Trying to plan this year's trip and this is an option, along with the ubiquitous BSJ. In the last 3 years we've stayed at Karting Nord (07), Houx Annexe (08) and BSJ (09), and are trying to decide which site is best. BSJ is a long walk from the main enclosure of the track and the tram stop but easy to get in and out of, but it's so big that we were walking for 15 mins just to get out of the site.

So, any opinions on Mulsanne? Is it a better bet than BSJ, will we be able to get out to Carrefour during the race or shall we stick with what we know?

All campsites have advantages and disadvantages, everyone tends to have the first choice of where to camp, used tertre Rouge for the last ten years, probably the most difficult to get hold of but someone always ends up putting them on E Bay closer to the date. TR is a ten/fifteen minute walk to Carrefore past several bars. During the race getting to or from Mulsanne can be a real problem and facilities there are limited, however view is great and supermarkets/mulsanne itself are close by.

Instead of the Carrefour you could use the Super U in Ecommoy...just head south for about 5-10 mins max, on the N138 (N338 or whatever it's now called) towards Tours. Just as big as the Carrefour, large carpark and petrol station but without the hassle of a million other Englishmen all trying to buy the same crate of beer!
