Where to get a flag pole

Need one for our party. Used a 8M Telescopic Pole in 08 but it broke in heavy rain and wind. whats best to use and where to look at getting something for use with a few flags

Suggestions?

one a similer one to that I broke on it's first trip in 08. might have been how I put it up/or overlaoded it with flags but cheers for the link

We've got couple of 6 footers, zip tie the flags to them, no problems over several trips

We have 2 large flags on ours, never had an issue.

If you know any engineers who work for BT, they use telescopic poles. We used them in 2008 and they wer very good, no issues at all.

We, erm, 'engineered'??? our own in 08, couldnt get them into the ground (as it is made of rock... so duct tape to the rescue, and mounted them on the gazebo. structurally sound!

Go to Carfour or similar and buy a Carp/roach fishing pole, they come arange of sizes and prices, dont use the last couple of sections, Goes back down to a reasonable size for transport.

Ditto, I use the same company. Recommend you get some spare guy rope and pegs if it gets a bit windy.

Cheers guys, I had tied the pole to a large post last time when it broke. During heavy rain and wind, probably did not help

I used a fishing pole as well - cost about 7 quid. I just stuck it though the sun roof of the car and shut it.

From a slightly different perspective:
A mate of mine was a BT Engineer and a keen angler - he used the BT telescopic poles as Roach Poles...
