I guess many might know already, but looking at the what-car-what-crossing list, those for Thursday 7:00 I beleive should be 06:45. Got a call from LD lines a few weeks ago letting me know that the ferry will depart 15 mins earlier.

Also the return on Monday evening for us has changed from 17:30 to 17:00.

Hopefully helps/reminds..

Umm - big thanks for posting! We are on both those crossings but have not received any notification of change - could be because I booked through aferries rather than directly.

I've emailed them to double check!

Cheers - we'll keep an eye out for you on the ferry, what are you travelling in?

Let me know Ben if you get an update or answer, otherwise I'll forward you my email confirmation of changed times if you need.

There and back in a 1990 Porker 911 (964) and belting down the old route from Rouens stopping for lunch at Gace which gets a few Brits and pukka there doing the same..

You?

Very nice indeed.

Sounds cracking - we'll be doing almost exactly the same thing - not sure where we'll end up stopping... maybe in Gace now! Group of 6 cars including my old F355 and some modern stuff - Alfa GT etc.

Bizarrely this is the response I got from aferries:

"Thanks for your email, I have looked into your enquiry and can confirm your departure times as follows:

Dover – Boulogne 10.06.10 @ 07:00
Boulogne – Dover 14.06.10 @ 17:15

There have been some operational changes affecting the timetable on the Dover – Boulogne route, we are notified by the operator of any changes that affect our customers in good time to let people know."

To be on the safe side I think we'll assume the times they told you apply. Hopefully see you on the ferry!

Cheers

Ben, I've copied in both emails I received from LD Lines. Both were sent after two separate calls from the Customer Services on different days. Hope you find it useful..

Maybe see you in Gace then, we'll be there from midday I imagine. There is a restaurant there off the square (not actually on the square) that does a good fixed price French steak and chips all washed down with a couple of Kronenbourg's - lunch of endurance racers!

Interesting!!!

We are also booked on said crossings, but have had no instructions on any changes from LD since a change on the 25/11/09.

Will wait until near the time to call them and confirm any changes. Looking forward to crossing with the lads.... beer

hmmm.. well I guess they are a French ferry company so very likely to change their minds again!

Would be interested to hear if anyone finds out nearer the time any updates given to them.

Looking forward to that early morning belt down the M20..

Be aware that there are speed cameras on the overhead grantees from Jn 4- 6 (West Malling to Maidstone east) on the M20 driving

Are they live though? Isn't it part of a variable speed thingy?

Thanks for the warning. If I crank it up fast enough from the M25 junction and hit the speed of light I can beat the camera flash maybe..!

The next thing for me to do is check with Novus if they do a camera DB for France. Probably not me thinks.

As I understand it they are live at present, but on the local Kent news about a month ago they said they are also going to be introducing a variable speed limit at certain peak times. confused

Yep, don't forget to carry a minimum of one hi-viz jacket IN the car (passenger jackets can be in the boot), and then photocopy your driving licence, V5 and insurance docs and certificates.

A couple of years ago I got done on the spot there for speeding and they kept my driving licence (and may keep others) as I didn't produce a V5. Getting a new licence is easy when back (just report it missing), getting a replacement V5 is harder..

Enjoy the trip guys.. maybe see some of you on the Thursday morning ferry to Boulogne.

There's a lot to be said for Eurotunnel sometimes. Seems like with LD lines you need to double confirm everything.

I received a text message saying that my 06:45 was now 07:00 (as it was originally before they emailed a change to 06:45). Went to their website to check and it wouldn't accept/recognise my booking ref..! It's worth the extra few quid to go with someone else next year me thinks.

Hopefully everyone affected also know that the Sunday night 11:15 is now 9:15 - that could be a but upsetting if you didn't know...

I cancelled mine and rebooked with Norfolklines, too much of a rush after the race otherwise.
