Chimeras at LM

I don't mean the TVR ones'

I know that open fires are not allowed at LM but what about a garden chimera? Previous years it has got a little nippy in the small hours and we have talked of bringing one this year.

Or are we just being ghey?

Cant see it being a problem. There are plenty of bbq's so cant imagine it would be any different.

I'm sure I saw some pretty serious bonfires going on last year, so I'd be surprised if anyone objected.

I think your Chiminea will be ok amongst the show-only Armageddon fireworks, chinese lanterns, gas camping lights attended by drunks, unattended BBQ's, cigarettes, various gas cannisters fuelling different appliences, TVR's spitting out flames on the rev limiter and bonfires.........can't wait !



For anyone concerned about this fire, it was lit at about 10pm in Technoparc in 2008 when 80% of campers had headed home not another tent within 100 metres

As above but try to make sure you keep the smoke down. Everyone expects a little barbie smoke and so on but being down wind of a smokey fire that's burning all night can irritate after a while, especcialy if it's filled your tent as well

Seconded. We made sure everyone was ok with ours and most actually came up for a drink and gathered round the fire. Very social evening it was.

The Sunday night fires are often a sight to behold, just keep an eye out for the less intelligent who think chucking a half used 13.5kg gas cylinder on is a good idea...
