This is my second year going to Le Mans.Can someone please tell me what happens at Saint Saturnin.Im staying at club valan,i plan on going to the PH meet in the afternoon.I also want to drive around a bit and see the outrageous goings on of all the pilgrims.

Hello, I went to this event for the first time last year. The village of St Saturnin opens up its village hall and has a yearly display of a particular Marc of car Last year it was Morgan, this year its Corvette There is a nice barbecue and refreshments available. Visiting cars are directed to various areas depending on what your driving, then its a great big outdoor car show and meeting place Here's a link to the website there are pics on the website from last year

Ideally get there in the morning then stay for a couple of hours then make your way down to Mulsanne for the PH meet where you can enjoy a beer and another Barbecue

The Classic British's Welcome has been going for many years now, it is part of the Le Mans celebration, being on both Friday and saturday morning.

The event is held at the school and is completely free, although I am sure the food and drink stalls provides some income for the school. Aswell as being a car show all the classic cars for the pilots parade meet there and as friday progresses more and more of them are assembled on one part of the tarmac.

There is plenty to see and do, but in recent years it has been a victim of it's own success, in that the car parks get full particular;y around friday lunchtime.

Don't forget the Mulsanne meeting on friday afternoon too !

I have been going to St Saturnin for the last 3 years (marques were Austin Healey, Ferrari then Morgan). I usually go up reasonably early on Friday morning with a view to returning to the campsite and then making my way to the track on the Friday afternoon for a wander round the pit lane etc.

I have used Club Valan since 2000 and am with them this year again, so give us a shout - we will be in a white X6.
