It's France. Exactly what level of pitch planning are you expecting!

I've spent several years in Houx. Every year the layout at the top end was the same. Every year the pitches and roadways were in the same places. Every year the pitch numbers were different!

All part of the fun.

Very true, this is my 25th year and things never seem to improve (thank goodness, would not be the same without the organised chaos!)

We were in BN a couple of years ago and although the pitches were marked out, there were no numbers, we were directed to the first available pitch. Same on BSJ last year. Are the ACO numbering the pitches now? We're in Blu Sud this year, I assume that the pitches will be marked in there.......

They are gradually moving the camp sites to the marked and numbered system they have used in Houx for years - mainly due to the hassle of people coming down Friday to find no space because people have arrived earlier in the week and roped of half of France.

They have gone from unmarked pitches to zones and marked, unnumbered pitches but if this is the year they go for marked and numbered pitches is anyone's guess.

We are also in Bleu Nord, Curtosey of Speedchills, we have 5 plots and DonPhill off here is next to us with 5 plots.

I don't have a clue what our numbers are, but my mate who booked them got a rough plan of the layout from Speedchills. But was only really a plan of their allocation, rather than the whole site!

We have made an educated guess of where we will be.

If you want, PM me your rang and place and will try to work it out for you.

Maybe a meet up aswel, where you travelling from?

Hmmm not convinced they are the same this year, we have the following 10 pitches:

Zone Rang Place
B 24 85
B 24 86
B 25 85
B 25 86
B 26 85
B 26 86
B 27 85
B 27 86
B 28 85
B 28 86

I guess Rang is row, however these rows do not exist on that map in zone B?

Anyone got any ideas?

Last year on BSJ, a lot of the site was under water on the Wednesday. If there was a campsite numbering scheme, I don't see how it would have been any use in those circumstances as they were siting people away from the swamps to start with. By Friday when it had dried out they then filled the rest. Does Blu Nord suffer from flooding. If so I would imagin it being on a first come basis.

Much as we like to take the piss out of the ACO's organisation abilities they do tend to have moments of common sense when it matters. While the plan may one thing and the rules may say follow the plan they wouldn't force you to camp under water (though what happens if it's still flooded come Friday I don't know).

Well' it seems that plan is correct, I have managed to decipher the layout and the enclosed pic shows our 10 pitches all together and at the end of a row nearest the track!

Come over and see us as we will be there from Tuesday 8th setting up the wedding marquee tent, leather 3 piece suite, 42 inch plasma screen for the World Cup and in house bar.........

All welcome (as long as you bring some booze!!!!)

Tertre Rouge still has the old first come first served basis but the tickets are limited and the security people insist that you only take one of the marked spaces per pass, the spaces also have marked area's for parking cars between the rows, typically 6 spaces 3 by 2 then a car parking lane. Organised to some extent but not the gestapo tactics used in MB or houx, the campsite is usually home to much the same people each year and tickets are about as hard to come by as rocking horse ****

Nice one, glad we've got some Brits then! Should be a vintage year, how many of you heading down? Any interesting vehicles?

Were 21 people in 9 cars. Should make the England / USA game interesting on the Sat!

11 of us in 4 cars and a brave lad on a bike!

Unfortunately nothing exotic this year but one of our drivers has announced his vehicle is to be a surprise; that could go one of two ways....

Looking forward to the England game - We've got guest membership tickets for the Speedchills marquee as I understand there is a big screen in there. However your setup seems ideal and more importantly, stumbling distance from our tents!
