Heads up - "Deadliest Crash" on BBC4, Sunday
Discussion
Just a heads-up - The Deadliest Crash: the Le Mans 1955 Disaster is on BBC 4 at 9pm this Sunday. Should be interesting if a little morbid. From the same people who did "Le Mans - In the Lap of the Gods" and "Chasing the Dream" which are both excellent.
Thanks for flagging that - would have missed it otherwise I expect.
Although, I'm still not 100% sure I actually want to see this film - I've known about it for some time but I've still not decided if it might feel a bit voyeuristic given the number of people who were killed and injured (and the manner in which that happened to some of them...).
This is one piece of motor racing history which I'm not sure I want to explore in too much detail, especially since we saw the plaque on the wall by Tribune 19 - noticed it for the first time last year.
I'd guess the programme is going to focus on the background the the crash - the cars, the safety standards for both drivers and spectators, etc at the time and the post-crash conspiracy and changes rather than the crash it's self.
BBC Breakfast did a live spot from Bradford City ground yesterday where 56 people died and 200 injured, to remember the deaths and highlight the changes in regulations put in place in the wake of it to prevent a repeat. This is a similar situation that should be looked at to remember and avoid the same mistakes being repeated - though it needs to be done in that way and not a voyeuristic, Channel 5 "Britain's Ugliest Person"/"Worlds Worst Police Chases"/"Worlds Worst Accidents, Look You Can Even See That Person's Head Coming Off And The Blood Going Everywhere" show.

That was excellent - quite moving, thanks for the heads up.
Does anybody know what the song was called that was on the credits at the end? Its something like "they will speak for us" or something like that, its a great song.
I think it was 'No Surprises' by Radiohead.Does anybody know what the song was called that was on the credits at the end? Its something like "they will speak for us" or something like that, its a great song.
