Accessing Mulsanne Corner in the early hours...

If, I were to drive from my remote (i.e. not at the circuit) campsite at some god forsaken hour of Sunday morning (i.e. 2 or 3am) would I:
1) Be able to park within a reasonable walking distance of the Mulsanne Corner?
2) Be able to access the circuit?

i've never had a problem getting to Mulsanne
it's a 24hr race, so the corner is open . . . 24hrs !
i've even seen people sleeping on the bank on blow-up beds

car park is busy, but never full

the route might be a little unusual, as the some roads might be closed

Last time I went to Le Mans, a couple of us did a tour of some of the corners, starting from around midnight.

IIRC, for Mulsanne, we parked in this clearing (signposted as an official car park, you may need to show your tickets/passes). We then walked parallel to the track to the viewing area at Mulsanne corner (the green bank, south of the corner).

I usually head to Arnage & Mulsanne corners about 2 or 3am and the roads are very quiet so you'll not have a problem. Usually end up back at the main spectating around 6am area ready for a nice crepe before crashing out for a couple of hours

Pretty much my plan for this year. The problem with nice crepes is that sometimes its difficult to find decent toilet facilities at Le Mans!

For the first time last year we drove to Hotel Arbor on the Mulsanne straight. You can enter their car park for 10E and their land literally borders the straight, well worth a drive at any time during the 24hrs.

Change of ownership, I don't think you will be able to this year

Between 3am and (say) 7am - is it necessary to park in an Official Car Park?
Could the cars not be left in the nearby supermarket car park or even down a side road?

Saying that, how much is the parking pass and can they be bought on the day?
Also will my General Admission access give me access to the Mulsanne/Arnage area, the website is quoting EUR25.00 for this?

Ok, well this is my understanding and I will stand corrected if I am wrong as I am not as knowledgable as some on this forum.

In the past it was possible to drive to Arnage corner and park in a field which was organised by the ACO. It was always awful for traffic at any time day or night, so last year the field became a ticket holder only area (yellow parking pass). I am not sure if these are available down there?

The area around the Mulsanne village is generally pretty well blocked off with closed roads,however I am sure there will be places to park and have a wander. As I mentioned Hotel Arbor was fantastic and is about 1/2 way down the Mulsanne straight and signposted. Although NormanD thinks the park and watch option may not be available this year.

I don't think it will be ready this year from the looks of it, but the lorry weighbridge area just after the Mulsanne bend on the left has been bought by the ACO and apparently they are building stands there sometime. Nothing at all has happened at the moment though but a place to look out for in the future. To get to the Mulsanne parking will be a bit tortuous with the one way systms in place though.
