3mm on Boxster rear tyres, change before Le Mans?
Discussion
Hi all,
Just after some opinions please. I have 3mm tread on the rear Pirellis, Le Mans for me is about 1000 miles all in, should I get the tyres changed before going or not? They should be perfectly legal, and although I have no intention of speeding and getting pulled by the gendarmes, if they did pull me, would they do a full inspection of the car and try to pick on things like the tyres if they were getting low?
Thanks

I would have thought it would be better to consider your safety, the rain was torrential last year on the way back, I wouldn't want to be on 3mm of treadJust after some opinions please. I discovered my Porker was still on winter tyres the day before Le Mans last year when I retireved it from the back of the garage!! They survived the trip well and made for some interesting roundabout exit trajectories in what was near 35degree air temps all weekend!
If they are legal I'd not worry too much, but be cautious arseing about too much if it is wet!
