Whats your expectation for mpg for you trip down?

What are you expecting fuel wise?
Until last week, I was planning to go in 'gulp'- a 1993 ranger classic.
Circumstances mean it's had to go, and replaced with a 1999 skoda octavia estate.
Oh dear.
The flip side is that I am now hoping for late 40's- early 50's mpg- one of our group is going in a healey 3000 do speeds will be a steady 80-85.
What are you travelling with in your convoys? Best and worst mpg?

I'm expecting 10mpg at best.

I'm doing the Classic this year, but last year I achieved a remarkable 27 mpg out of the 328, this was mainly due to me driving down on my own and not wanting to attract the police, so I kepyt to the speed limits and just cruised along. It was actaully quite pleasant just watching the world go by and not driving at 10/10's all the time.

Not the same thing, but was at the Bugatti circuit this morning. Fuel consumption was around one litre every two minutes! They had the 1972 Porche 917 and the GT40 out of the museum - what a glorious sound! If you wonder why I'm not still there, it's now hammering down at Le Mans and an open car on narrow crossplies isn't that much fun

I'm preparing myself for a worstcase 200 miles from a tankfull and anything better than that is a bonus. The other 2 cars going with me, are a 400bhp Evo IX and a 350bhp+ Scooby.

28-30mpg of the volvo for the main le mans

Same out of my S2000 for the run down to the classic (we'll see about that though, depends how heavy my right foot feels!)

I would have expected around 25mpg from the Z4, though a recent 900 mile trip through france saw that up at 30.3mpg, so that'll be nice for my wallet if that's the case.

Looking at the fule consumptions just a warning that it is exactly 300 miles from Calais to Le Mans and there are precious few services, so fill up when you can. For those using the A28 after Rouen there is a filling station on the right but then it is a long way towards Le Mans before the next one. If using the D338 (old N138) look for shopping centres - i.e. supermarkets.

....and a mahoosive speeding fine to match, I'd imagine.


2.5T S-Max covering ~600km west from Luxembourg, I'll be (very) lucky to see as high as 20mpg!
