D338 is its designation now i think
It's also called the D438 in places.

You can get on at Bourgtheroulde-Infreville, just south of Rouen. Easy enough to find with a satnav or map. Once onit, it goes all the way to Le Mans from there.

Right folks, there is an old abandoned/ closed/ forgotten motor racing circuit in France. Just a few grandstands are left standing and the road goes between them.

Where is this, as I'm sure I herd someone say somewhere, some when that it's not too much of a detour to go see it from the drive to Le Mans (from the UK)?

Aye I did a bit more searching. It's in fact no where near Le Mans. I must have herd of a circuit and jumped to conclusions.

Oh well thanks for the answer.

We're stopping at the only old F1 circuit I know of that is on the route to Le Mans, that of Rouen. It doesn't have the grandstands or anything else left these days, but we stopping this year to have a look.

I've got the waypoints if you want them .. . .

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much of a time difference there is between taking the motorway all the way vs peeling of after Rouen and taking the old N138 route??

According to my route Google reckons it should take 7hrs 43 mins rofl

Its a bit complaciated but goes something like this
Dunkirk - St Omer
D928 - Abbeville
Not made my mind up about the next bit, but either
D928 Neufchatel en Bray,
D915 cut accross country to Gournay en Bray, or from Abbeville D901 to Gournay en Bray.
D915 - Magny en Vexin
D983 - Mantes la Jolie
D928 - Dreux
D928 - Nogent le Rotrou
D923 (N23) Tet Rouge, Le mans smile

Not one bit of motorway thumbup
