Press Realase Club Lotus France : Lotus in the 24 Hours of Le Mans June 12, 2010
Just before the famous 24 of Le Mans, the Club LOTUS France will be on the track due to an invitation of the ACO, Saturday, June 12, 2010.
At this time, Club Lotus France will be represent by 80 teams, will run on the circuit track in the hour before the warm-up.
Due to this event, LOTUS CARS LTD will be present.
Will also present at this event, our partners: Automobile Chassay, Marcassus SPORT, Performans Engine and Laurent Sauzeau’s INSURANCE.
The 12th June, all participants will gather in the parking lot of the ballroom at Mulsanne at 7:00 Am, the starting will be done at 7:40 under the direction of safety cars ACO.
Founded in January 1983, the Club Lotus France celebrated his 26 years on the General Assembly in December 2009.
But the first meeting between fans of Lotus had started a little earlier, in 1980!
In the early years of the existence of the Lotus brand, was woven a close link between Colin Chapman and, a French man becoming famous: Gerard Crombac, founder of the French magazine Sport Auto.
One of the first French customers of Lotus, it quickly became a friend of the founder of the English brand, and its flagship driver: Jim Clark.
But we must wait for the end of the 70’s, for have the birth of the Club Lotus France
Club Lotus France in a few dates:
• 1983: Founding of Club Lotus France
• 1995: The Club Lotus France is anorphan, abdication of the Team Lotus.
• 1998: Outstanding Celebration of Lotus’s 50 Years
• 2003: Club Lotus France celebrates 20 years
• 2004: Club Lotus France launched his website
• 2007: Club Lotus France exceeds 1000 members
• 2008: Gerard Ducarouge was appointed honorary chairman of Club Lotus France
• 2010: Club Lotus France over 1500 members
